Michael Saul
Raised in a Catholic family in Ohio, Michael Saul found an early outlet in art and filmmaking, eventually moving to San Francisco, where he embraced his identity amid the devastation of the AIDS epidemic. His journey later took him to Los Angeles, where he built a career directing independent gay themed films and exploring LGBTQ lives through his work. Michael also reflects on his own 30 year age gap relationship, challenging common assumptions about intergenerational couples and sharing the perspective that comes from more than a decade with his partner. Looking back on San Francisco during the height of AIDS, his filmmaking career, and the many friends he lost, Michael offers a personal perspective on love, survival, and decades of change in LGBTQ life.
