Roy Lyons
Roy found his way into Los Angeles’ gay community in the late 1980s. He later met Bill through a local gay and lesbian scuba club, beginning a partnership that has spanned more than three decades. Together, they have navigated career changes, relocations, and the journey from domestic partnership to marriage. Roy reflects on the communication, compromise, and everyday acts of care that have sustained their relationship while allowing each to maintain his individuality. Now navigating retirement and aging together, Roy looks back on a life with Bill that neither could have imagined when they first met.
