Born in Connecticut in 1948, Ron Meyer knew from an early age that he was attracted to men, eventually coming out to his family while in college. After building a successful career as a designer in Beverly Hills, Ron experienced profound loss during the AIDS epidemic when his friend Robert died in 1987, leading him to choose celibacy for nearly two decades.
