Robert Cano
Mexican immigrant, community activist, and founder of the Long Beach LGBTQ Film Festival Robert Cano reflects on growing up gay in a strict Pentecostal household and finding his voice through community and activism. He also remembers his first love, Casey, whose influence helped him embrace his identity before losing him to AIDS, and reflects on navigating the height of the epidemic while remaining HIV-negative. Through his stories of love, loss, survival, and advocacy, Robert offers a personal window into decades of LGBTQ+ history and change.
