Ken Bruce
After leaving his Kentucky roots behind for Hollywood in 1969, Ken Bruce built a life marked by love, loss, recovery, and adventure. He spent decades with his partner Jesse, eventually becoming his caregiver through AIDS until Jesse’s death in 1995. During this difficult period, Ken also confronted his own struggles with prescription drugs and alcohol, beginning a journey of sobriety that remains one of his proudest accomplishments. He later co-founded a successful boutique travel agency, coordinating tours for artists including Cher, Tina Turner, Pink, and Ozzy Osbourne. Now retired, Ken reflects on aging, the people he has lost, and a lifetime of travel while staying connected to his community and volunteering with LGBTQ elders.
