David Churchill
Growing up between California and Pennsylvania, Dave Churchill navigated bullying, family rejection, and the challenges of discovering his sexuality during the 1970s. After returning to California, he found freedom and community in Laguna Beach’s thriving gay scene, only to watch nearly all of his close friends disappear during the devastating years of the AIDS epidemic. Overwhelmed by loss, Dave retreated from gay life for years before eventually confronting the memories he had buried. Today, he reflects on survival, healing, and the gift of being gay while honoring the friends he lost through his memoir, Lived To Tell.
